Pole Buildings Unlimited

Metal roofs and steel siding.

New metal roofs on houses, barns and shops, and new steel siding where a building needs it, from the same crews that build our pole barns.

The same steel we put on every building.

Every pole barn we build is roofed and sided in steel, so metal roofing and siding is part of every job our crews do. We also put new metal roofs on houses, and new roofs and siding on existing barns, garages and commercial buildings across Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Steel holds up well to Delmarva weather: it sheds rain and snow, doesn’t rot, and comes in a range of colors and finishes. Ask us about matching an existing building, or changing its look entirely.

“Excellent quality craftsmanship. Gary was very responsive and patient with our questions and modifications. Highly recommend PBU. They built a new shop and put new metal roofs on 2 houses for us.”
Saundra Turner

What we roof and side.

  • Homes

A new metal roof on your house, in place of a worn-out roof.

  • Barns

A new roof or new siding on an older barn, so it stays dry and looks right again.

  • Garages and shops

Steel roofs and siding for detached garages, workshops and sheds.

  • Commercial buildings

Roofs and siding for shops, warehouses and storefronts.

  • New pole buildings

Every building we put up is roofed and sided in steel, in the colors you choose.

  • Additions and lean-tos

Matching steel on an addition, so the old and the new read as one building.

Planning a new roof or siding.

Start with what’s under it

On a re-roof, the condition of the roof deck and framing decides the job. Building codes limit how many layers of roofing a house can carry, so many re-roofs start by tearing off the old roof. We look at what’s there before we quote.

Colors that work together

The roof, walls, trim, soffit and wainscot can each be a different color. Darker roofs hide dirt; lighter ones reflect more of the summer sun. You can try combinations in our 3D designer before you decide.

Matching an existing building

When you add on, or replace part of a roof or wall, we match the panel profile and color as closely as current steel allows, and we’ll point out anywhere it may differ.

Permits

Whether a new roof or new siding needs a permit depends on your county or town; a new building almost always does. We check the rules for your address and handle the permit if one is needed.

Three easy steps.

One team handles the drawings, the permits and the build, and keeps you posted the whole way.

How it works
  1. Step 1: Quote & contract

Tell us what you need. Our designers put together drawings and an organized, easy-to-read quote, then work through the details with you until the building is yours.

  2. Step 2: Permits

We manage the permits for you, wherever you live. Homes usually take 3 to 5 months to permit, depending on the county. Garages and farm buildings move faster.

  3. Step 3: Construction

Our crews build it and our project managers keep you posted every step of the way. Final payment comes after the county’s final inspection.

Questions about metal roofing and siding.

Still wondering about something? Call us at 302-399-4420.

Do you install metal roofs on houses?

Yes. Along with the steel on every pole building we put up, we install new metal roofs on homes. One customer, Saundra Turner, had us build a new shop and put new metal roofs on two houses.

Can you put new siding on an old pole barn?

Yes. We re-side existing barns, garages and shops as well as new buildings. We check the framing first, since new panels need solid backing to fasten to.

Do I need a permit to replace a roof or siding?

It depends on your county or town. Some require a permit for re-roofing or re-siding and some don’t. We check the rules for your address and handle the permit if one is needed.

What colors can I choose?

Steel comes in a wide range of colors for the roof, walls, trim, soffit and wainscot, including textured finishes. You can try combinations in our 3D designer, and we go over the options with your quote.

What warranty comes with a new metal roof or siding?

Our 5-year workmanship warranty covers the installation, and the manufacturer warranties cover the materials.

Let’s get a new roof on it.
